Hello and welcome to the Long COVID Support Community! We are so pleased to have you here. My name is Eve, and I am part of the team that runs Long COVID Support. I have not got Long COVID personally, but do know a few people who are experiencing Long COVID. I think it’s important to acknowledge what a difficult condition it is, not only because of the large range of affects it has on people’s bodies, but also the unknown nature of it and how isolating it can be. We hope that by creating this community we can help take away some uncertainty and help connect people. Please introduce yourself so that we can start getting to know you.

Thank you Eve for welcoming me to this group. Last week I had confirmation that I have long Covid after catching it back in July 2022. While the confirmation was on one hand, a relief that I wasn't imagining it or being 'dramatic', it was also very upsetting to learn that there really isn't much that can be done to get me back to 100% health ever again. So I guess we are all dealing with both the (various types of) physical debilitation and the huge psychological impact this has. I hope that joining this group will help me navigate these hurdles and perhaps I can glean some information or advice from those who have been battling too.
Thanks - Dee

Hi my name is Liz and I have just been diagnosed with long covid. I had Covid in December and stopped testing positive at day seven. Since then I have been so tired and breathless with joint and muscle pain and a low grade nausea. Very difficult to get help or any medication. I felt I had to beg for pain relief and anti nausea tablets and only go one packet with no repeats so I would need to visit the GP weekly, FI ally had a chest xray which showed I also had a chest infection!
Good Morning, happy Monday!
We've had a handful of new members join us over the weekend - welcome to the forum @LizBeth @Liz @Dan Campbell and @Mon - If you feel comfortable to do so, we'd love to hear a little about yourselves / what you would like to gain from this online community.

Hello everyone I’m Cosma! I’ve had Long Covid since March and although the symptoms started getting better in the summer, since October my health has been going downhill again (possibly because of overstraining myself too much) and it’s been infuriating and debilitating. I would definitely recommend taking it slow if possible because I didn’t. My symptoms include fatigue, brain fog, severe dissociation, pain, numbness and tingling in my arms and legs, and anxiety. The worst thing has been the uncertainty of not being able to get any answers. I also had to drop out of my university due to the symptoms increasing. I’m hoping for some possible solutions and some other sufferers to relate and talk to so we can have some hope together :) Also has anyone tried antihistamines or getting another covid vaccine? As there are some research articles that say that it has helped some Long Covid sufferers.
Good morning! 😊
How is everyone going?

Hi everyone
I caught covid around May and have had symptoms ever since.
The cold-like symptoms cleared quickly, but I’ve been stuck with ‘brain fog’ and fatigue. I didn’t fully appreciate what COVID ‘brain fog’ is until having had it myself. It’s truly debilitating. It impeded my ability to converse, to work, to think, and – at its worse – to speak coherently.
One thing I found particularly frustrating was people not believing ‘long covid’ is real and/or understanding what long covid is, and particularly not understanding why I had only limited energy and capacity each day.
I’ve found it has improved with time, just *very* gradually. If someone said “how are you feeling” and it was two days after having asked the first time, I invariably felt exactly the same. But if they asked a week or two later, I probably felt ever so slightly better.
I do wonder about the broader long-term effects, too.
It’s great to be a part of a community where people “get it.” I hope more broadly that as a society that though research, we find out more about it, including how to mitigate its impacts.
Hi I got covid in March 2020 - when I didn’t recover after I few weeks I started to be concerned. I have never needed hospital treatment but have been significantly affected by long covid. I had most things that people talk about - chest pain, shortness of breath, fast heart rate, hair loss, sleep problems, muscle fatigue and pain. Over the past 6 months I have noticed significant improvements but still dealing with daily concerns. I have had to search for answers and find health care professionals to help. I am very conscious of pacing and trying to rest if needed. Cheers
Naomi
Welcome to @Sharon A, @Gnome, @Helen G, @KJ, @Fran, @Annmaree, @TASH, @Barry, @Lecter, @RickiG, @Bethany, @Elaine, @Lozzy, @Summa, @Liz H, @Kate , @EZPEZ123, @Emma, @Stally! We would love for you to introduce yourselves here and to tell us a bit about your experience of Long COVID.
My name is Helen and my stepson has been suffering from long Covid for 9 months. He is being seen at the University of Pa and has received speech and physical therapy with very little results. His career is on hold and may never resume. His brain fog is so severe that at this time he is unable to do any kind of work especially as he tires so easily. Things have become very difficult for him seeing as there are no answers for him. So sad.
